Cougars to play 36 holes Monday with Final Round on Tuesday at Medinah Country Club
MEDINAH, Ill. – The University of Houston Women's Golf program continues its fall season when it competes at the Illini Invitational at Medinah, beginning Monday morning at Medinah Country Club.Schools will play 36 holes Monday on the 6,166-yard, par-72 Course No. 2 with the Final Round set for Tuesday.
In their most recent action, Houston captured the team championship at the Schooner Fall Classic with a score of 9-under 551in a rain-shortened event. It was the Cougars' second title under fourth-year Carolyn Macow Leatherwood Head Coach Lydia Lasprilla.

MEET the COUGARS
The Cougars will be represented by junior Natalie Saint Germain, freshman Annika Ishiyama, sophomore Maelynn Kim, junior Moa Svedenskiold, and junior Alexa Saldana.
This season, Saint Germain leads the Cougars with a 71.75 scoring average. The Prague native tied for fourth at the Schooner Fall Classic after posting a score of 4-under 136, thanks to a 67 in the Second Round.
Freshman Annika Ishiyama stands second on the team with a 72.20 average and is tied with Saint Germain for the team lead with three rounds of par or better.The Costa Mesa, Calif., native tied for eighth at the Schooner Fall Classic and is the only Cougar to post Top-20 finishes in each of the first two tournaments of the season.
TEAM FIELD
Houston will compete in a 15-team field featuring Indiana, North Texas, Mississippi, Texas Tech, Maryland, UCLA, Northern Illinois, Georgia, ULM, Pepperdine, Auburn, UCF, Alabama and host Illinois.
TEE TIMES
Monday's First Round begins with an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start with Houston competing in groups with student-athletes from Illinois and Indiana.
Saint Germain begins the day for the Cougars in the first group off No. 1, with Ishiyama (second group of No. 1), Kim (No. 2), Svedenskiold (first group off No. 3) and Saldana (second group off No. 3) following.

ILLINI INVITATIONAL at MEDINAH HISTORY
This marks the second straight season in which the Cougars will compete at the Illini Invitational at Medinah.
A year ago, Houston tied for sixth with a score of even-par 864. Current junior Moa Svedenskiold fired three straight rounds of par or lower, including a 67 in the Final Round, to tie for sixth at 5-under 211. Current junior Alexa Saldana joined her among the Top-20 leaders.UP NEXT
The Cougars close their fall campaign at the Jim West Challenge at Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos, Texas, on Oct. 20-21.
Houston finished third at the 2023 tournament with Kim tying for ninth at 9-under 207, thanks to a 68 in the Final Round.
From there, the Cougars will take their holiday break before opening the spring season at the Collegiate Individual at Guadalajara Country Club in Mexico on Jan. 30-Feb. 2, 2025.
