Rehr signs Avery Shimaitis (Pepperdine) and Paige Bernstein (Gardner-Webb)
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Volleyball program added two transfer student-athletes as the semester began on Wednesday. Avery Shimaitis, an outside hitter from Pepperdine, and Paige Bernstein, a setter from Gardner-Webb, join the program for the spring semester.
Â
"It makes me happy that we can bring local kids back to the city of Houston," Head Coach David Rehr said. "We recruited Avery out of high school and were impressed with Paige out of high school as well. Both players are expected to help us next season."
Â
The pair join Angela Grieve, an outside hitter from Miami, as incoming transfers for the 2024 season.Â
