
Tennis Unveils 2023 Fall Schedule

Cougars set to open fall slate Sept. 29 at home
HOUSTON – The University of Houston tennis program and sixth-year Head Coach Helena Besovic announced its 2023 fall schedule on Thursday.
The six-match slate features one home tournament at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility as well as five road tournaments.
Returning student-athletes include American Athletic All-Conference Team selection Laura Slisane, along with Blanca Cortijo Parreno, Maria Dzemeshkevich, Elena Trencheva, Gabriela Cortes, Sonya Kovalenko and Sophie Schouten. The seven returners are joined by freshman Nina Skoric, from Paris.
Houston will open the fall season hosting the Houston Fall Tournament (Sept. 29-Oct. 1) at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility, while select student-athletes will travel to the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, N.C. (Sept. 29-Oct. 8).
The Cougars will return to the Lone Star State as they head to Waco, Texas for the ITA Texas Regionals (Oct. 13-16).
Following a three-week break, Houston will split its squad and compete at the Texas A&M Invitational (Nov. 3-5) in College Station, Texas and the Rice Invitational (Nov. 3-5) hosted by Rice.
The Cougars then will close out the season competing at their first Big 12 Conference event, the Big 12 Women's Tennis Individual Championships in Waco, Texas (Nov. 10-13).
