Kizer Scores in 2-1 Loss to Oklahoma

Freshman Kyrsten Kizer scores Houston’s first Big 12 Conference goal
HOUSTON– Freshman forward Kyrsten Kizer scored the University of Houston Soccer program's first Big 12 Conference goal in a 2-1 loss against Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon at the Carl Lewis International Complex.
Houston (6-4-1, 0-3 Big 12) struck first as Kizer nailed a line drive shot in the 12th minute of action to put the Cougars ahead 1-0. This marked the freshman's second goal of the 2023 campaign.
Oklahoma (6-4-1, 2-0-1 Big 12) scored the equalizer in the 74th minute as midfielder Esalenna Galekhutle scored a goal off an assist from forward Emma Hawkins.
In the 82nd minute, forward Danielle Wolfe scored to give Oklahoma the go-ahead 2-1 win.
UP NEXT
Houston will travel to Ames, Iowa, as it faces Iowa State for the first time in program history at 6 p.m., Thursday, at the Cyclone Soccer Complex. The game will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
The Cougars then will return to the friendly confines of the Carl Lewis International Complex as they face West Virginia for the first time in program history at 1 p.m., Sunday, for Alumni Day.
All former University of Houston Soccer alums are invited to attend the match and can RSVP by emailing assistant coach Fleur Benatar (fbenatar@central.uh.edu).
TICKETS
Current University of Houston students may claim one ticket at no cost to all home soccer matches. Students can claim their tickets by presenting their valid UH student IDs at the gate.
Single-game tickets are now available to purchase for $10 per match. Season tickets are also available to purchase for only $42 with family plans (four season tickets) starting at $100.
Mobile tickets can also be purchased at game time at the ticket booth located at Schroeder Park (baseball), adjacent to the Carl Lewis International Complex.
