Cougars set to open regular season action on the road against Washington
HOUSTON – Houston Soccer and Head Coach Jaime Frias announced its 2023 non-conference schedule on Wednesday with a slate that features six home games at the Carl Lewis International Complex. Fans can view the full schedule with times here.

Television broadcast information for all Houston Soccer matches will be released at a later date.
"The non-conference portion of our schedule will give us the opportunity to test ourselves against some quality opponents," Frias said. "The most important objective as a team will be to re-enforce our style of play, evaluate our players and solidify a starting line-up as we prepare for Big 12 Conference action. Each non-conference opponent will present a different challenge, which will allow us to grow and develop as a team."
Houston begins the preseason with a pair of exhibition matches against Incarnate Word (Aug. 6) in San Antonio, Texas, and will return to Houston to host UTRGV (Aug. 10).
The Cougars will travel to Seattle to kick off the regular-season campaign at Washington (Aug. 17).
Houston will then return to the friendly confines of the Carl Lewis International Complex for its regular-season home opener as it hosts Southeastern Louisiana (Aug. 20) followed by a trip to Nacogdoches, Texas, to face Stephen F. Austin (Aug. 24).
The Cougars return home to host Tarleton State (Aug. 27), and will then visit crosstown rival Rice (Aug. 31). Houston closes out the non-conference portion of the schedule with a three-match homestand against Louisiana Tech (Sept. 3), HCU (Sept. 7) and Texas State (Sept. 10).
Following the non-conference slate, Frias and the Cougars open Big 12 action against Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, on Sept. 14.
