Volleyball Adds Two Signees to 2023 Class

Houston adds a duo of incoming freshmen to the most recent signing class
HOUSTON – University of Houston volleyball head coach David Rehr announced two additional members to his 2023 signing class on Wednesday.Â
Â
The addition brings his 2023 signing class to eight, including three transfers and five incoming freshmen. Six of Rehr's signees are outside hitters, joining a setter and a libero.Â

REAGAN FIFER
Setter / 6-2
Argyle, Texas
Liberty Christian School
Fifer arrives on Cullen Boulevard following a prep career with Liberty Christian School, tallying over 3,000 assists with the team. As a senior, she tallied 758 assists with 228 kills and 200 digs while winning a TAPPS State Championship.
Fifer was a 2021-2022 TAPPS 6A All-State Second-Team selection and spent time with the USA High Performance Future Select program, a development program for the USA Volleyball National Team. In 2021, she helped Liberty Christian reach the TAPPS 6A State Semifinals and earned a spot on the Fort Worth Star Telegram's All-Area team.
Fifer played club volleyball for Tejas 18 Black. A two-sport athlete, she also earned a letter in golf.Â

SUNNI SHEPPARD
Libero / 5-4
Brandon, Mississippi
Brandon HS
A four-time state champion and 2022 AVCA Second Team All-American, Sheppard signed with Houston after playing for Brandon High School in Brandon, Miss. In 497 sets of prep volleyball, Sheppard tallied 2,008 digs, averaging four per set, while adding 915 kills, 343 service aces and 800 assists.
Sheppard was the MHSAA Tournament MVP in 2022 and played with Brandon High School since the seventh grade. She was a three-time selection to the MHSAA 6A All-State Tournament team and earned a spot on the Clarion Ledger's All-State team in 2020.
Sheppard also played club volleyball with Infinity Volleyball Academy.
