Murray Wins Second-Straight Conference Weekly Award

HOUSTON – Junior utility player Justin Murray was named the American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Sunday.

Murray pitched four scoreless innings of no-hit relief in Friday's come-from-behind 8-7 victory over Cincinnati. The junior recorded six strikeouts and only issued one walk as the Cougars came from down five runs in the bottom of the ninth and won the game in the 10th.

The previous week, Murray was named the Player of the Week after his performance against Tulane. This was the Cougars' fourth Conference Weekly Award this season.

With the regular season complete, Houston turns its attention to the American Athletic Conference Tournament in Clearwater, Florida. As the solidified two-seed, the Cougars will play on Tuesday at 3 p.m. CT against the seven-seed Tulane at BayCare Ballpark. More information about the tournament can be found here.
