Seven Cougars Named to All-Silver Glove Team

Arnold tabs MVP in Rice three-game series
HOUSTON – Seven Houston baseball players were selected to the 2023 All-Silver Glove Team by media who covered the annual three-game series between Houston and Rice. 
Junior third baseman Zach Arnold highlighted the selections after being named the series Most Outstanding Player batting .429 (6-14) with three runs, two RBI, a double and one home run while also drawing three walks.
The Cougars were represented by catcher Anthony Tulimero, infielders Justin Murray, Zach Arnold, outfielders Drew Bianco, and Brandon Uhse, and pitchers Kyle Ayers and Owen Woodward. Arnold, Uhse and Tulimero were all repeat selections as well as Arnold earning MOP for the second-straight season. Altogether, Houston totaled 29 runs on 35 hits with four home runs and 26 RBI.
In 1998, the annual baseball series between Rice and Houston was branded as the Silver Glove Series. Rice has won the series in 18 times since the series began, posting a 63-32 record.
