Cougars will play 36 holes Monday with Final Round on Tuesday at Golf Club of Houston
HUMBLE, Texas – The University of Houston Men's Golf program plays host to two events at the All-American Intercollegiate, beginning Monday morning at Golf Club of Houston.
The Cougars welcome an elite 21-team field to compete at the All-American Intercollegiate on the Tournament Course, beginning at 8 a.m., Monday. The school also will host the All-American Individual, beginning at 8 a.m., Monday, on the member course.
Admission is free to all, and everyone is invited to attend both tournaments.
Houston enters this week's event following a 10th-place finish at the Cabo Collegiate at Twin Dolphin Club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on March 5-7. Junior Santiago De La Fuente opened that tournament with a 70 and tied for 13th at even-par 213.
It was the fifth straight tournament in which De La Fuente led the Cougars and marked his sixth straight Top-13 finish in as many tournaments. The Guadalajara, Mexico, native leads Houston with a 70.55 scoring average and 16 rounds of par or better, including eight in the 60s.
Wochner stands second on the team with a 72.65 scoring average and is tied with senior Austyn Reily and sophomore Wolfgang Glawe for the team lead with 10 rounds of par or better.
