Volleyball Adds Third Transfer to 2023 Class

Houston adds a graduate outside hitter from Texas Tech
HOUSTON – University of Houston volleyball head coach David Rehr announced the addition of Kenna Sauer, a transfer from Texas Tech, to his 2023 signing class on Wednesday.
The addition brings his 2023 signing class to five, including three transfers and two incoming freshmen, all four of which are outside hitters.

Sauer comes to Houston following two years at Texas Tech and two years at Missouri. She's played in 83 matches in her collegiate career, posting 856 kills, 612 digs and 144 blocks in 284 sets.
She was named to the All-Big 12 First Team and a AVCA Southwest All-Region selection in both of her years at Texas Tech, averaging 3.63 kills per set with a .200 hitting percentage with the Red Raiders. In 2022, she tallied 16 double-doubles with 27 double-digit kill performances and 16 double-digit dig performances. She led Texas Tech in kills in each of her seasons there and helped the program to its first NCAA tournament appearance in 20 years in the 2021 season.
Prior to her arrival in Lubbock, Texas, Sauer played in 24 matches over two seasons for Mizzou, where she tallied 69 kills and 31 digs. She's a graduate of Ankeny Centennial High School in Ankeny, Iowa, and was the 2019 Des Moines Register Iowa High School Player of the Year. She was also a 2018 Under Armour Second-Team All-American and helped lead Ankeny Centennial to three state championships (2015, 2016, 2018).
