Volleyball Summer Camps Announced

HOUSTON – University of Houston volleyball Head Coach David Rehr announced a return of his summer camps in 2023. Rehr will offer nine different camps in June or July open to any and all entrants, limited only by number, age, grade and/or gender.

The College ID camp (June 14) offers a chance for aspiring high school student-athletes to be seen and learn from the Houston coaching staff. Advanced Camp (July 14-15) is recommended for the more advanced and skilled volleyball athlete who wants to train in a competitive, collegiate type environment. This camp is ideal for the highly experienced volleyball athlete striving to be their best and take their game to the next level.

For the younger athletes and those involved in developmental programs, the staff is offering two different four-day All Skills Camps (July 10-13 & July 17-20). The four-day All-Skills Camp will focus on all aspects of the game with a strong emphasis on the fundamentals of volleyball. Skill development in the following areas will be emphasized during 20 hours of on-court instruction: serving, serve receive, forearm passing, setting, attacking, blocking, transition, and competition.

Rehr's staff will also be offering four different one-day Skill Camps, with two focusing on liberos and blocking (July 12 & July 19) and two focusing on setting and attacking (July 11 & July 18). The one-day Skill Camps will dive into more details of the individual skills of setting, attacking, blocking, defense and ball control at a more developmental level. These camps are recommended for all skill levels.
