Cougars announce 56-game schedule featuring 34 home games
HOUSTON – University of Houston baseball head coach Todd Whitting released the Cougars' full 2024 schedule on Wednesday, revealing a 56-game slate with 34 games inside Schroeder Park.
Nine different 2023 NCAA Regional teams litter the Cougars' 2024 schedule with Houston hosting four 2023 NCAA Regional teams.
Houston will open the season with eight-straight home games to open the season and play 15-straight games within three miles of its home stadium. The Cougars play three road non-conference games in 2024 against Rice, Sam Houston and Texas A&M.
The Cougars' first two non-conference series of the season are opponents Houston has never faced, hosting Binghamton on Opening Weekend Feb. 16-18 and then St. John's Feb. 23-25. Houston hosts Prairie View A&M on Feb. 20 and then UTSA on Feb. 27 in midweek games.
Back in June, in partnership with the Houston Astros, the Cougars announced their three-game schedule at the Astros Foundation College Classic in Minute Maid Park March 1-3. Houston will play Texas State, Vanderbilt and Louisiana.
The first game of the Don Sanders Cup against Sam Houston will take place on the corner of Cullen and Elgin on March 5. The Cougars will then go to Huntsville, Texas for the second game of the three-game series on April 9 and close out the series in Sugar Land, Texas at Constellation Field on May 14.
Houston and Rice will begin the Silver Glove Series on March 19 at home before playing Game Two the next day at Rice's Reckling Park. The Cougars will host Game Three on April 2.
In the second of two back-to-back midweek games, the Cougars will host Houston Christian on April 16 and Southern on April 17 – both games at Schroeder Park.
An April 23 game at Texas A&M wraps up Houston's road non-conference slate before the Cougars host UT Arlington in April 26-28 during its Big 12 bye week.
A May 1 midweek game against McNeese at Schroeder Park and a May 7 meeting with Nicholls wrap up Houston's single-game non-conference game slate.
In November, the Big 12 Conference unveiled its 2024 baseball schedule with Houston hosting Baylor, Kansas State, Texas, UCF and Oklahoma State. The Big 12 Championship is set to take place May 21-25 inside Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
In conjunction with the schedule release, Houston Athletics has launched season ticket purchasing, season ticket renewals and flex plan purchasing (flex plans do NOT include the Texas series and will open for game selection in January).
