Cortijo Parreno, Skoric Advance to Doubles Round of 16 at ITA Texas Regionals

Houston continues singles action at 9 a.m., followed by doubles at 12:30 p.m.
WACO, Texas – Senior Blanca Cortijo Parreno and freshman Nina Skoric advanced to the Doubles Round of 16 at the ITA Division I Women's Texas Regional Championship at the Hurd Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
In the doubles main draw, Cortijo Parreno and Skoric continued their winning ways as they defeated (9) Jermine Sherif/Camryn Stepp (Texas Tech), 8-2, to advance to the round of 16.
Maria Dzemeshkevich and Laura Slisane advanced to the doubles consolation round of 16 due to an opponent injury, and Elena Trencheva and Gabriela Cortes received a double bye.

In the doubles consolation round of 16, Slisane and Dzemeshkevich battle (4) Federica Trevisan and Chie Kezuka (Rice) while Trencheva and Cortes face Kiana Graham and Emily Niers (Texas State) at 12:30 p.m.
