Cougars Wrap Doubles Play at ITA Regionals

Houston resumes regionals play with singles at 10 a.m.
WACO, Texas – The University of Houston tennis team wrapped up doubles action at the 2023 ITA Texas Regional Championship at the Hurd Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
After opening the tournament with a pair of wins, Blanca Cortijo Parreno and Nina Skoric fell to Aleksandra Zlatarova/Cassie Mclay (UTSA), 4-8, in the round of 16.
Gabriela Cortes and Elena Trencheva bounced back from an opening-round loss with a win in the consolation round of 16, defeating Texas State's Kiana Graham/Emily Niers, 8-4, to advance to the quarterfinals.
The doubles pair fell to Yekaterina Dmitrichenko and Andreea Lila (Texas Tech), 2-8 in the quarterfinal match up.
