
Houston Releases 2022 Fall Competition Schedule

Cougars to compete in five fall invitationals, one home tournament
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Tennis Program and Head Coach Helena Besovic announced its official 2022 fall match schedule on Thursday.

The five-match slate features one home tournament at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility as well as four away invitationals this fall.
Â
Returning student-athletes include Azul Pedemonti, Laura Slisane, Blanca Cortijo Parreno, Maria Dzemeshkevich, Elena Trencheva, Sofia Chang and Manasi Reddy. The seven returners are joined by freshmen Gabriela Cortes, Sonya Kovalenko and Sophie Schouten.

The Cougars are set to begin action at the Penn Invitational in Philadelphia competing Friday and Saturday, with doubles action on Friday and singles competition on Saturday.

Houston will then compete at the ITA Texas Regional Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, from Sept. 22-26 on the campus of TCU.

The Cougars return home to the Winston Tennis Facility to host the UTR Houston Tournament from Oct. 14-16. Fans are invited to attend all three days of competition free of charge.

Following the UTR Houston Tournament, the Cougars will travel to Waco, Texas, for the Baylor Invite from Oct. 28-Oct. 30.

The Cougars will close out fall action at the Rice Invitational from Nov. 3-Nov. 5 from the George R. Brown Tennis Center on the campus of Rice.
