Houston Welcomes South Florida for Conference Opener

Conference slate kicks off Thursday evening
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Soccer program will return to action at the Carl Lewis International Complex at 7 p.m., Thursday for its first American Athletic Conference match of the season against South Florida for Hispanic Heritage Night.
Fans are invited to play a traditional Hispanic card game, Loteria throughout the evening with exclusive Houston Soccer merchandise for the winners at the conclusion of the game.
The match will be streamed on ESPN+ with Matt Pedersen and Andrew Driver calling the action. Live stats will be available here.
Students will now be able to claim two tickets at no cost to all home soccer matches. Students can claim their tickets by presenting their student IDs at the gate.
Fans can purchase single-game tickets by clicking here or by visiting the ticket office. Mobile tickets can also be purchased at game time at the ticket booth located at Schroeder Park (baseball), adjacent to the Carl Lewis International Complex.
HISTORY WITH THE BULLS
· In the last meeting against South Florida, Houston earned a 1-1 draw in double overtime (Sept. 30, 2021) at Corbett Stadium in Tampa, Fla., with forward Zionah Browne scoring the lone goal for the Cougars, assisted by midfielder Madison Gear.
· The Bulls lead the series, 12-4-1.
ABOUT THE COUGARS
· Houston is in its first season under Head Coach Jaime Frias.
· The Cougars are 3-3-1 on the season.
· In its last match, Houston defeated Houston Baptist in a 3-1 decision on Sunday evening with goals from midfielder Caitlyn Matthews and forwards Janna Singleton and Nadia Kamassah.
