Cougars in the NFL: Week 1

HOUSTON – Payton Turner highlighted the former Houston Football student-athletes who saw time on the field for their respective NFL teams during week one.

Payton Turner | New Orleans Saints | W, 27-26 vs. Falcons

Turner blocked a 63-yard field goal attempt on the final play of the game against the Falcons giving the Saints a 27-26 win. He played 14 of 75 snaps at defensive end and seven snaps on special teams.

Matthew Adams | Chicago Bears | W, 19-10 vs. 49ers

Adams tallied four total tackles in his first game with the Chicago Bears. He played in 15 snaps on defense and 17 on special teams.

Kyle Allen | Houston Texans | T, 20-20 vs. Colts

Allen did not see action against the Colts.

Logan Hall | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | W, 19-3 vs. Cowboys

Hall made his NFL debut for Tampa Bay notching a tackle for loss in the game. Hall played 20 of 69 snaps on the defensive line.

William Jackson III | Washington Commanders | W, 28-22 vs. Jaguars

Jackson III had a team-high nine tackles for the Washington Commanders playing all 70 snaps at cornerback.

Josh Jones | Arizona Cardinals | L, 44-21 vs. Chiefs

Jones played eight snaps at guard in Arizona's 44-21 loss to Kansas City.

Marcus Jones | New England Patriots | L, 20-7 vs. Dolphins

Jones played four snaps in his NFL debut in the secondary for New England.

Case Keenum | Buffalo Bills | W, 31-10 vs. Rams

Keenum did not see action against the Rams

Ed Oliver | Buffalo Bills | W, 31-10 vs. Rams

Oliver had two tackles for Buffalo as well as a quarterback hurry against defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams. Oliver started at defensive tackle but only played in 17 snaps due to an injury.

Elandon Roberts | New Englad Patriots | L, 20-7 vs. Dolphins

Roberts had five tackles in his start for the Patriots. He played 36 of 57 snaps at linebacker and five snaps on special teams.

Grant Stuard | Indianpolis Colts | T, 20-20 vs. Texans

Stuard played 23 snaps on special teams for the Colts.

Damarion Williams | Baltimore Ravens | W, 24-9 vs. Jets

Williams had one tackle in for the Ravens. He played 13 of 84 snaps in the secondary and 15 snaps on special teams in his NFL debut.
