Five Cougars Named All-Conference

Tulimero, Hernandez recognized on American’s First Team
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Baseball program was well represented as The American Athletic Conference announced its postseason honors Monday.

Redshirt sophomore catcher Anthony Tulimero and senior first baseman Ryan Hernandez were recognized on the All-American Athletic Conference First Team. Houston's two first-team honorees were the most since totaling three in 2017.Â
Â
Redshirt junior shortstop Ian McMillan, junior reliever Ben Sears and junior utility player Brandon Uhse were named to the league's Second Team. With five honorees on the 2022 team, Houston upped its all-time total to an American-best 41 across nine seasons.

Tulimero leads The American with 22 runners caught stealing while pacing the Cougars offensively in batting average (.324) and hits (68). Hernandez is third in the league in RBIs (51) and is tied for fourth with 12 home runs.

McMillan, who leads The American with 173 assists, has totaled 14 multi-hit games and 10 multi-RBI games. Sears paces the conference with 12 saves and is second in ERA (2.95) and fourth in opponent average (.230). Uhse is fourth in The American with 46 runs and leads the Cougars in doubles (15) and multi-RBI performances (14).
