Trio Earn US National Team Tryout

Georgiades, Jackson, Warren to represent Houston at USA Volleyball Tryout Friday
HOUSTON – Three University of Houston volleyball student-athletes will represent the Cougars at the USA Volleyball National Team Tryout on Friday at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Facility in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Libero Kate Georgiades and outside hitters Abbie Jackson and Kennedy Warren are among more than 200 USA National Team hopefuls that will train and show off their volleyball skills.
Georgiades ranked second nationally this year in total digs (663) and ninth nationally in digs/set (5.39) on her way to VolleyballMag.com All-American honorable mention honors, AVCA All-Region honors, The American Libero of the Year honors and all-conference first-team honors.
Jackson posted the eighth-most kills in the country (496) and ranked 44th nationally in kills/set (4.03), earned AVCA All-Region honors and The American all-conference first team honors.
Warren ranked second on the team in kills/set (2.47), fourth in total blocks (46.0) and fifth in digs/set (1.94). Warren posted a season-best 19 kills at SMU in November and tallied 13 different 10-plus kill matches.
