Tennis Wraps Fall Schedule at Rice Fall Invitational

Dzemeshkevich, Kovalenko, Slisane earn singles victories on final day
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Tennis program wrapped up its fall season on Saturday with three singles victories at the Rice Fall Invitational hosted at the George R. Brown Tennis Center on the campus of Rice.
Houston faced opponents from Rice, BYU and UT Arlington, picking up 10 singles victories and two doubles wins throughout the three-day invitational.
Freshman Sonya Kovalenko earned a win against BYU's Avery Pope, 6-1, 6-3. Maria Dzemeshkevich picked up her second singles victory of the weekend after facing UT Arlington's Tara Gorinsek with set scores of 6-4, 6-0. Junior Laura Slisane picked up Houston's third win of the day against UT Arlington's Ana Paula Jimenez, 6-1, 6-2.
