Contest will be first American Athletic Conference matchup on NFL Network
HOUSTON – The University of Houston and SMU will play in the American Athletic Conference's first matchup on the NFL Network when the teams square off at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, the league office announced Monday.
The matchup will be Houston's second all-time on the network and first since facing TCU in the Texas Bowl on Dec. 28, 2007, from Reliant Stadium. Houston has won 11 of the last 15 matchups against SMU and leads the all-time series 22-13-1.
Houston returns to action at 11 a.m. Saturday when it welcomes South Florida to TDECU Stadium for Homecoming. The contest will be the ninth all-time between the Cougars and Bulls with Houston holding a 6-2 series lead thanks to six consecutive victories (2013-present).
