
Adejokun, Seagraves, Brome record first place finishes at Red Raider Open

Cougars tab top marks in Lubbock at Texas Tech
LUBBOCK, Texas – Priscilla Adejokun, Brandon Seagreaves and Jadon Brome all tallied first-place finishes at the Red Raider Open at Texas Tech on Friday.
Women's Weighted Throw
Adejokun highlighted the first place finishes tallying a career-high 21.95 in the finals of the women's weighted throw. She bested her No. 5 national mark from last week increasing her throw by 0.19. She separated herself from the rest of the competition finishing 1.17m ahead of second place. It was the second week in a row that Adejokun finished in first place in the women's weighted throw. Nu'uausala Tuilefano also finished in the top five participants recording an 18.03 for fifth place in the finals.
Men's One Mile
Seagraves hastily finished the men's one mile with a 4:17.20 time. It was his second first-place win in as many weeks as he recorded a first-place finish in the 3000m last week at the Leonard Hilton Memorial meet. Teammate Devin Vallejo-Bannister also gave points to the Cougars as he finished in fourth with a 4:19.63 time.
Men's Triple Jump
Brome recorded a first-place finish for the Cougars in the men's triple jump with a 15.50m mark. His jump was good for No. 24 in the nation and his second first-place finish this season. Caleb Malbrough and Quinton Stringfellow rounded out the Houston triple jumper's as Malbrough finished in fourth at 14.77m and Stringfellow posted a 14.69 for fifth.
Men's 4x400
A team of Tyrell Valentine, Shaun Maswanganyi, Quivell Jordan and Trey Johnson took the 4x400m relay by storm, finishing in second with the No. 5 time in the nation. Their 3:07.09 time was a season-best and only 00.19 seconds behind Florida's relay team that ranks No. 4 in the nation.
Men's Pole Vault
Christyan Sampey recorded a second-place finish in the men's pole vault. He cleared a 5.23 height to rank No. 18 in the nation while Ben Percefull cleared a 5.13 height to finish in fourth good for No. 30 in the nation.

The Houston track and field team returns home to host the Houston G5 & Super 22 Invitational in the Yeoman Fieldhouse from Jan 28-29.
