Cougars face Owls in Bayou Bucket on Saturday
HOUSTON -- A new 2021 addition to the Bayou Bucket rivalry, the Bayou Bucket Annual Giving Challenge pits the Cougar Pride Athletic Fund against the Rice Owl Club to see which department can secure the highest number of gifts during rivalry week.
Gifts received through Cougar Pride will advance essential athletic department priorities, including scholarships and excellence-based initiatives such as sports performance, academic support services and student-athlete wellness.
"This week's challenge is a great opportunity to celebrate the significance of student-athlete success, as Cougar Pride generosity continues to position our Cougars to compete at the highest level in all they do," Senior Associate Athletic Director John Gladchuk said. "It is also an important opportunity to show the strength of our Cougar Pride community while we invite Cougar fans across our great city to come forward and invest in [Vice President for Athletics] Chris Pezman's important vision and the exciting trajectory of UH Athletics."
To make a gift, click the following link to visit the Bayou Bucket Giving Challenge donation page. Gifts start at $20, with the count to be tallied and reported so that Cougar Pride Athletic Fund members – current and future – can follow the competition.
