
Gladchuk Named Senior Associate AD/Chief Development Officer

HOUSTON – University of Houston Vice President for Athletics Chris Pezman announced the hiring of John Gladchuk as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development/Chief Development Officer on Monday.
Gladchuk will oversee the day-to-day operations and provide administrative supervision of Cougar Pride, Houston Athletics' fundraising arm. He will also implement and manage Houston's major gifts and premium seating programs, focusing on large contributions.
"We are excited to welcome John and the Gladchuk family to Houston," Pezman said. "He is a proven fundraiser and committed to cultivating outstanding relationships with our donors and stakeholders. He is also familiar with our athletics department's history and will help us continue to reach our next level of success.
"John is also a former student-athlete who understands the importance of developing championship-level resources for our programs to be successful and competitive in our conference, but nationally as well."
Gladchuk joins Houston Athletics after spending four years at UNLV as the senior associate athletics director for external affairs where he was responsible for all facets of athletic revenue development, the Rebel Athletic Fund and oversight over UNLV's multimedia rights.

At UNLV, Gladchuk oversaw the best four-year fundraising period in athletics history, increasing membership in the Rebel Athletic Fund by 60% over a four-year period. UNLV also saw record unrestricted annual giving levels and corporate philanthropic support including its largest estate gift of $8 million.
He also helped secure the largest corporate gift in UNLV Athletics history and completed fundraising efforts to establish a $30 million state-of-the-art complex for UNLV Football.
Prior to his time in Las Vegas, Gladchuk served as the Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at LSU. In Baton Rouge, He led a comprehensive corporate and foundation fundraising program that delivered philanthropic resources to LSU's mission and emerging strategic plan.
Gladchuk has also spent time in various development and fundraising roles at Virginia Tech (2013-16), Clemson (2011-13) and the College of Charleston (2008-11).
He earned his undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University in 2000, a master's from California State University, Fullerton in 2004, and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Riverside in 2006. As a student-athlete, Gladchuk played golf at LMU and Boston College.
His father, Chet, is the director of athletics at the U.S. Naval Academy and served as the athletics director at Houston from 1997 to 2001, and his grandfather (Chet Sr.) is in the College Football Hall of Fame.
Gladchuk and his wife, Lisa, have two boys, Luke and Lane, and a daughter, Holland.
With Gladchuk in charge of the day-to-day operations of Cougar Pride, he will also assist Katina Jackson in continuing to further develop the athletics fundraising program. Jackson will now serve as Special Assistant to the Vice President for Athletics and Senior Associate AD for Special Projects. She will also partner with Gladchuk on annual fundraising campaigns and new major gift opportunities for the department.
For the past 23 years, Jackson has contributed to the success of student athletes at the University of Houston by overseeing fundraising efforts, including for more than $240 million in capital improvements. Those projects include the $125 million TDECU Stadium, $60-million Fertitta Center, $25-million Guy V. Lewis Development Facility, $21 million Football Indoor Practice Facility and $6-million addition to the Daryl & Lori Schroeder Park as well as the Carl Lewis International Track & Field Complex and Cougar Softball Stadium.
"Katina is so valuable to our department in so many ways," Pezman said. "She will be able to continue to work with our development team to acquire major gifts and work alongside our executive staff to implement special projects for the department. During her 32-year career within our department she has established valuable relationships within our donor base and I look forward to her continuing to be a part of our team."
Jackson has inspired a generation of alumni, advancement staff, and others to keep University of Houston strong and provided exceptional resources to UH student-athletes. She will continue to focus her efforts on principal gift fundraising and special projects for athletics.
