Kickoff Times, TV Networks Announced for Five Games

Cougars open the 2021 season in primetime on ESPN against Texas Tech at NRG Stadium
HOUSTON – With the 2021 season drawing closer, the University of Houston Football program announced game times and TV networks for five contests on Thursday.
The Cougars' season opener against Texas Tech on Sept. 4 in the Texas Kickoff at NRG Stadium will kick off at 6 p.m. CT and air on ESPN. This will mark the third appearance for Houston in the Texas Kickoff. The Cougars lead the all-time series, 18-13-1, against the Red Raiders.
Houston's home opener versus Grambling State on Sept. 18 will air on ESPN+ with kickoff set for 6 p.m. CT from TDECU Stadium. The game will celebrate "75 Years of Houston Athletics" as the athletics departments celebrates historical moments, past championships and award-winning student-athletes.
The Cougars' road contest at Tulsa on Friday, Oct. 1 will air on ESPN at 6:30 p.m. CT. Houston's road swing will continue the next week at Tulane on Thursday, Oct. 7. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
Houston's Nov. 19 matchup with Memphis is slated for an 8 p.m. CT kickoff from TDECU Stadium. The game will also air nationally on ESPN2.
The remaining game times and TV network designations will be announced 12 days prior to kickoff during the 2021 season.
