HOUSTON – Houston Football's Sept. 11 game at Rice and Nov. 27 matchup at UConn will air on CBS Sports Network, CBS Sports announced on Wednesday.
The 40th battle for the Bayou Bucket is set for a 5:30 p.m. CT kickoff inside Rice Stadium. Houston won the previous matchup between both programs, 45-27, in 2018.
Both programs were scheduled to meet in 2020, but the game was cancelled due to COVID-19.
Houston leads the all-time series, 32-11. The two schools began competing for the Bayou Bucket trophy in 1974 after it was created by the Touchdown Club of Houston.
The Cougars and Huskies will meet for the fourth time in series history. The matchup will take place at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in East Hartford, Conn and kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT.
Houston won the last meeting between the two teams in 2019 with a 24-17 road win. Both teams were members of the American Athletic Conference from 2013-2019.
The contest will mark the first time Houston has closed the regular season with a non-conference opponent since 2010 when the Cougars faced Texas Tech.
