Naomi Taylor and Shaun Maswanganyi Highlight Weekly Awards

Duo post high marks during first week of outdoor season
HOUSTON – University of Houston Track & Field senior Naomi Taylor and freshman Shaun Maswanganyi highlight the first edition of The American Outdoor Track & Field week honors, both earning track athlete of the week honors.

Taylor posted a season-best 13.30 in the 100-meter hurdles at the UTSA Invitational on March 18. The senior took second-place in the event and currently holds the sixth-best time in the NCAA this season. This marks the first week honors of the year for Taylor.

Maswanganyi continues to have a stellar first year at Houston earning the first weekly honor of his career. Fresh off his first NCAA appearance, Maswanganyi clocked a time of 10.16 in the 100-meter at the Houston Spring Break Invitational to win the event. The time is the second-fastest in the NCAA and the ninth-fastest in the world this season.

HOUSTON ATTENDANCE POLICY
Limited tickets for Houston Track & Field will now be sold on a single-game, general admission basis while supplies last. Fans are encouraged to act quickly and purchase advanced single-game tickets prior to their arrival on campus due to limited availability.

All facilities and related spring sporting events will operate at 25 percent capacity of available seating throughout the remainder of the 2021 season.

For fans wishing to attend any of these home events this spring, an exclusive pre-sale ticket offer will be made available to existing season ticket holders and donors prior to the general public on-sale which begins on Monday, March 15 at 9 a.m. CT. Â
