Houston suffered a three-game sweep to Oklahoma over the weekend and went 0-4 on the week … in the four games, the Cougars produced just nine runs and allowed opponents to hit .370 … Luke Almendarez led the offense, finishing 6-for-14 (.429) … Texas A&M used a pair of home runs, including a grand slam, to stave off Houston, 9-4 on Tuesday night from Don Sanders Field at Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park … Luke Almendarez (2-for-5) matched a career high with two hits … Will Pendergrass (2-for-4) notched his fifth multi-hit game and second multi-RBI performance … Brandon Uhse extended his hit streak to five games in a 1-for-4 performance … Houston could not produce a hit with runners aboard, spoiling a strong start from Robert Gasser as the Cougars dropped the series opener, 7-2 to Oklahoma on Friday night at L. Dale Mitchell Park … Gasser (2-2) struck out a career-high 11 batters, marking the second consecutive week the southpaw had fanned 10-plus hitters … he tossed 5.1 innings, permitting six hits and five runs (four earned) while walking a pair … Houston Baseball had no answer for Oklahoma's offensive explosion, dropping Saturday's middle game, 19-1  … Cougar reliever Carter Henry tossed 2.0 scoreless frames, working around a pair of hits … Luke Almendarez (2-for-3) drove in Houston's lone run on an RBI-single in the eighth inning as part of his second multi-hit game of the season. … Oklahoma used key two-out hits, including five two-out runs in the fifth inning to down Houston, 12-2 in seven innings and complete the three-game sweep on Sunday afternoon … the Cougars open a nine-game homestand on Wednesday, welcoming Prairie View A&M for a doubleheader before hosting UTA in a weekend set.
