
Houston Set for MountainView Collegiate

Cougars begin three-day tournament at The Preserve Golf Club on Friday morning
SADDLEBROOKE, Ariz. – The University of Houston Women's Golf continues its Western tour when it tees off in the MountainView Collegiate at The Preserve Golf Club on Friday morning.
The Cougars will play 18 holes each day, beginning Friday through Sunday. Friday and Saturday's play begins with 9 a.m. (CDT) split-tee starts with Sunday's Final Round starting at 8:30 a.m. (CDT).

THE LINEUP
Under the direction of Head Coach Gerrod Chadwell, sophomore Karen Fredgaard, freshman Anne Normann, freshman Zoe Slaughter, senior Ariana Saenz and junior Maria Jose Martinez will represent the Cougars .
Fredgaard has been one of the nation's leading collegiate players, posting a 69.67 scoring average with all but one of her nine rounds played to date at par or better.
She was recently named to the Watch List for the ANNIKA Award, presented to the nation's top female collegiate player, and is a two-time American Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week.
Normann tied for seventh at the Clover Cup at Long Bow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz., earlier this week, thanks to a career-best 69 in the Final Round. For her impressive performance, the Rungsted, Denmark, native was honored as The American Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.
THE FIELD
The Cougars will compete against Baylor, FIU, Fresno State, Iowa State, North Texas, Oklahoma State, San Jose State, Southern Miss, Texas, Tulane, Tulsa, UNLV and host Kansas State.

For Friday's First Round, the Cougars will play together as a group, beginning at 11 a.m., off No. 1. Complete pairings can be found by clicking here.
UP NEXT
Following the MountainView Collegiate, Houston returns to action when it tees off in the Bruzzy Challenge at Lantana Golf Club in Dallas on March 28-29.
From there, Fredgaard will compete as an individual at the Augusta National Women's Amateur on April 1-4 in Augusta, Ga. She earned the invitation as one of the nation's premier amateur players.
