Limited availability for single-game tickets, 25 percent capacity at all facilities
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Athletics Department announced Thursday updated attendance guidelines for its remaining home spring sports events.
These revised policies will take effect beginning Monday, March 15. UH Athletics will continue to consult with local and campus health officials and adjust these policies as needed.
"We are pleased to be able to expand the opportunity for our fans to be able to attend home events on our campus," Houston Vice President for Athletics Chris Pezman said. "While our venues will operate at 25 percent capacity, these steps outlined by our athletics department will give our fans the opportunity to see our baseball, softball, soccer, track & field and volleyball teams in action this spring.
"Our top priority will remain the safety and welfare of our student-athletes and coaches. All of our facilities will continue to utilize built in buffer zones to safely distance fans from the playing surface and around team areas in accordance with American Athletic Conference policy. We look forward to welcoming back more of our Cougar fans and having them here cheering on our student-athletes and supporting our programs."
Limited tickets for Houston baseball, softball, volleyball, track & field and soccer will now be sold on a single-game, general admission basis while supplies last. Fans are encouraged to act quickly and purchase advanced single-game tickets prior to their arrival on campus due to limited availability.
All facilities and related spring sporting events will operate at 25 percent capacity of available seating throughout the remainder of the 2021 season.
For fans wishing to attend any of these home events this spring, an exclusive pre-sale ticket offer will be made available to existing season ticket holders and donors prior to the general public on-sale which begins on Monday, March 15 at 9 a.m. CT.
Fans are encouraged to visit UHCougars.com/tickets to purchase available single-game tickets while supplies last.
To the extent possible, transactions will be contactless or touchless such as mobile ticketing and ticket scanning, along with cashless/touchless concessions when available. For more information on mobile ticketing, visit UHCougars.com/MobileTickets.
UH Athletics will also implement a modified food and beverage policy for the remainder of the 2021 spring season.
A limited concessions menu will be available at home UH baseball, softball and volleyball contests throughout the remainder of the 2021 spring season. One concession stand will remain in operation at each facility throughout the remainder of the year.
Fans will also be allowed to bring pre-packaged food items as well as non-alcoholic beverages in plastic containers into baseball, softball, track & field and soccer games. Due to the clear bag policy at Fertitta Center, fans will not be able to bring outside food and beverage into volleyball matches.
For remaining home soccer and track & field events, concessions will not be available for purchase, so fans are encouraged to bring in outside approved food and beverages when attending these events. Fans bringing in outside food and beverages will not be allowed to enter UH facilities with glass, aluminum containers or alcohol.
UH students can request single-game tickets for upcoming baseball, softball, volleyball and soccer games by clicking here.
In accordance with University of Houston policies, patrons will continue to be required to wear proper face covering devices at all times at a UH athletics event (excluding when eating or drinking).
