FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Houston senior Annie Kim posted a score of 73 Monday to tie for fifth following the First Round of the Blessings Collegiate Invitational.
As a team, the Cougars finished the first day with a score of 305 to tie Illinois for fourth.
UCLA held the first-day lead at even-par 288 to finish six strokes head of host Arkansas. Louisville stood in third at 303 with Texas Tech (306), Arizona (308), Mississippi (309), North Carolina (312) and Tennessee (320) rounding the Top 10.
Sophomore Delaney Martin was tied for 12th with a 75, while senior Ariana Saenz was tied for 21st at 77 on the 6,455-yard, par-72 course at Blessings Golf Club. Junior Karen Fredgaard stood in 40th at 80, while senior Maria Jose Martinez was tied for 42nd at 82.
UCLA's Alessa Nobilio held the First-Round lead with a 69, while Louisville's Hana Ryskova stood in second at 71. Arkansas' Brooke Matthews and UCLA's Emma Spitz were tied for third at 72. Kim joined Arkansas' Cory Lopez in a tie for fifth.
The tournament continues with the Second Round on Tuesday with the final 18 holes being played Wednesday.

UP NEXT
Following the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, the Cougars close out their fall schedule when they competes at the Jim West Challenge on Oct. 17-18 at Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos, Texas.
From there, Houston will take its winter break before opening the spring season at the UCF Challenge on Feb. 6-8 at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando.
