Cougars to face conference opponent on Sunday
HOUSTON – Houston Soccer (10-3-2, 2-1-1 AAC) will travel to Pennsylvania on Sunday to take on Temple (4-5-3, 1-3-0 AAC) for an 11 a.m. match.
The Cougars are coming off a tough overtime loss against ECU last Sunday at the Carl Lewis International Complex. Looking to bounce back against the Owls, Houston sees opportunity to fight for another win to add to its season record.
Houston is currently tied for third in the American Athletic Conference women's soccer rankings, with a national RPI of 68. The Cougars are tied with SMU and ECU. Temple is battling for a fifth-place ranking as it is tied with Tulsa.
In the National Coaches Poll for the South Region, Houston is ranked at four moving up two spots from its recent ranking of six.
Individuals who are currently nationally ranked include Mikaela Gracia who is tied for eighth with seven total shutouts on the season and Nadia Kamassah who is tied for ninth with four game-winning goals.
SERIES HISTORY
In all-time series history, the Cougars hold a 2-6-0 record against the Owls. The two teams first went head to head in 2013 which resulted in a 0-2 Houston loss. However, in the most recent match at home in 2020, Houston came out victorious 3-0.

Houston will be home at the Carl Lewis International Complex on Thursday to host No. 1- ranked Memphis at 7 p.m.
