Houston Opens 2021 Against SMU

Cougars return to action in Dallas
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving program opens the 2021 calendar year in Dallas when it takes on SMU on Friday. The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m. at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium.
Results will be available via the Meet Mobile App and Dive Meets.
The Cougars will compete in their second meet of the 2020-21 season, after closing out 2020 on a high note. UH won all 20 events against North Texas to remain spotless inside the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center dating back to Feb. 1, 2020.
Houston is receiving two votes in the latest College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of American (CSCAA) Poll.
COUGARS IN THE RANKINGS
Houston senior Mykenzie Leehy currently holds the 27th fastest time in the NCAA in the 100 Free, along with the ninth fastest time among collegians in the 200 Free.
Ioanna Sacha holds the 15th fastest time in the NCAA in the 200 Back.
The Cougars hold the 17th best time in the NCAA in the 400 Medley Relay.
On the boards, Katie Deininger posted an NCAA Zone qualifying score total of 281.32 in the 1-meter.
In the 3-meter, both Deininger (322.95) and Hedda Grelz (296.17) posted NCAA Zone qualifying scores.
UP NEXT
Houston will return home to face conference foe Tulane on Jan. 11 inside the CRWC. The meet is closed to the public and set to begin at 2 p.m. CT.
