Volleyball Holds First Practice of Season

Cougars begin 2020 journey
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Volleyball team held its first official practice of the year on Friday, marking the beginning of the 2020 campaign.

"Given all the obstacles we've had to go through to create a safe environment for our players and staff, I thought we had a great first practice," reigning American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year David Rehr said. "We have a lot of really good athletes on this team and I'm excited to see what they can do."

Houston is coming off a memorable 2019 campaign that saw the program's first postseason appearance since 2000 after posting a 10-6 conference mark, the most league wins since 2013. The Cougars return 13 players from last year, including Second-Team All-Conference sophomore middle blocker Rachel Tullos, who led The American and ranked third in the nation with 185 total blocks.
