Green, Stroops to Join 2020 Class

HOUSTON – The Houston football program added two new members to its 2020 roster on Friday with the addition of Art Green and Theron Stroops.
Green (6-2, 200), three-star recruit from Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College, is ranked the No. 5 JUCO cornerback in the 2020 class by 247Sports. In his two seasons at Hutchinson, Green recorded eight interceptions in 18 games played.
As a sophomore, he logged 13 tackles and finished with five pass breakups and two interceptions. Green recorded a team-high six interceptions during his freshman season in 2018, finishing with six pass deflections and logging 19 tackles in eight games.
Green chose Houston over offers from Arkansas, Arkansas State, Illinois, Iowa State and Tennessee, among others. He will have two years of eligibility remaining when he joins the program this summer.
Stroops (6-1, 175), a three-star cornerback from Lancaster, Texas, played for three seasons at Lancaster High School. He is rated as the No. 134 cornerback by 247Sports in the 2020 class.
During his senior season, Stroops helped Lancaster to an 11-3 overall record, advancing to the quarterfinal round of the Class 5A-Division I playoffs. Stroops also was a member of Lancaster's track program.
