Houston Earns Votes in Final Polls

Cougars receive national recognition
HOUSTON – For the second time in as many years, the University of Houston Softball team found itself receiving votes in the final USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll released Tuesday.
The Cougars earned two votes in the poll, joining UCF (No. 21, 167 votes) as the only teams from the American Athletic Conference to make an appearance in the poll. This marks the second year in a row that Houston bookended its season, appearing in both the preseason and final USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll.
With the 2020 campaign being cut short due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Houston posted a 16-7 record, which included the program's first 11-game winning streak since 2011. The Cougars possessed one of the most powerful offenses in the country, having launched 38 home runs in their 23 games, a mark that ranked fifth in the country.
