What I Miss Most
4/27/2020 12:39:00 PM | Volleyball
A reflection from rising sophomore Karly Berkland
"In the day of being a collegiate athlete, you go from lifting to class to practice and back to class. You get into a routine, and this is what I miss the most. Practicing every day was normal. Having that taken away has been difficult, especially when this is a time for the entire team and individuals to make strides and push themselves to get better with their skills and physically in the weight room.
"I miss seeing my teammates every day! Even when practices are hard or you have a rough day, they were always there to talk to and have a laugh with. not only do I mess them off the court, I miss them on the court! As a team, we were starting to compete with each other more and more, which was making each individual better.
"I miss having a coach always behind me, fixing all the things that seem small, but actually makes the biggest difference in how I can become a better passer. Taking away the sport that most girls have been playing since they were 12 years old is challenging, and I am ready to get back into the gym, weight room and locker room with my girls."
The Cougars return 13 players from their 2019 squad that made the program's first postseason tournament appearance since 2000, including All-Conference honoree Rachel Tullos.Â
