Houston Adds Four to 2020 Class

HOUSTON – The Houston football program welcomed four members to its 2020 signing class as linebacker D'Anthony Jones, offensive lineman Reuben Unije, wide receiver Khiyon Wafer and safety Mike Welch will join the program for the upcoming season.
The group joins the Cougars' 15-member signing class from December. The Cougars have used 18 of their 23 available scholarships for the 2020 class. Defensive lineman Eyabi Anoma and safety Gervarrius Owens counted forward towards the 2020 class after arriving on campus in August 2019.
The group is comprised of six junior college transfers and 12 high school seniors along with one graduate transfer. Members of Houston's class hail from five states and three different countries. The state of Texas is represented by 10 signees.

High School: Three-star recruit from Independence High School … Caught 65 passes for 1,277 yards and 21 touchdowns as a senior … Class 5A All-State selection as a senior … Played two seasons at Hebron High School and finished with 13 receptions for 216 yards and one touchdown during junior year.

High School: Talented athlete that played quarterback for Dickinson High School … Will transition to safety at Houston … 2019 Houston Touchdown Club Offensive Player of the Year Award Finalist … Led Dickinson to second round of the state playoffs in junior and senior seasons … Threw for 4,438 yards and 42 touchdowns as two-year starter at quarterback, while adding 1,463 career rushing yards and 39 touchdowns on the ground.
