Special measures in effect due to water outage
HOUSTON – Despite a large-scale water outage that is affecting the Houston area, home athletics events for this weekend at the University of Houston are still scheduled to take place.
Friday's home tennis match against UT-Arlington (2 p.m.) and baseball's series opener against Texas State (6:30 p.m.) will go on as scheduled.
Portable sanitary facilities will be placed at each event to accommodate fans. A limited selection of concession items will be available for sale at Sanders Field at Schroeder Park for Friday's series opener against Texas State.
Friday night's Cougar Pride event has also been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date in March.
Saturday's women's basketball game against UConn and Sunday's men's basketball matchup with Cincinnati are also still scheduled to take place.
UH officials will continue to work with City of Houston officials to monitor the water outage.
