Zac Etheridge Named to AFCA’s 2021 35 Under 35 Class

HOUSTON – Houston cornerbacks coach Zac Etheridge has been selected to the AFCA's 2021 35 Under 35 Coaches Leadership Institute, the organization announced on Monday.
Etheridge has spent the last two seasons with the Cougars, helping develop Damarion Williams and Marcus Jones into full-time starters. Jones was recently recognized as the fourth-ranked FBS cornerback this season by Pro Football Focus, while Williams has started all 18 games he has appeared in at Houston.
A former team captain and defensive back at Auburn on its 2010 national championship team, Etheridge arrived at Houston after spending one season at Louisiana, helping the Ragin' Cajuns to the 2018 Sun Belt Championship.
The AFCA 35 Under 35 Coaches Leadership Institute is a prestigious program aimed at identifying and developing premier, future leaders in the football coaching profession. Selected participants are invited to attend the one-day institute that features a curriculum of interactive lectures focused on topics specifically tailored to emphasize leadership in the coaching profession, ethics, influential responsibilities, career progression, and family balance.
Members of the AFCA 2020 35 Under 35 Coaches Leadership Institute receive a stipend to assist with expenses incurred while attending the AFCA Convention, provided by the NCAA Leadership Development and the American Football Coaches Foundation.
The AFCA 2020 35 Under 35 Coaches Leadership Institute will take place on Sunday, Jan. 12, at the AFCA Convention in Nashville, Tennessee.
