Marcus Jones Named FWAA All-American

Ninth Cougar to earn All-America honors from the FWAA
HOUSTON – Houston Football junior Marcus Jones was named a First-Team All-American as a punt return specialist by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) on Wednesday.
Jones is the ninth UH player in program history to earn All-America honors from the FWAA. As a junior in 2020, Jones led the FBS in punt return yards (337) and punt return average (19.8), while finishing the season with one punt return touchdown.
At cornerback, Jones recorded 24 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss and one interception in his first season at Houston.
Wednesday's honor marked Jones' second All-America selection this year. He was named a Third-Team All-American at cornerback by Pro Football Focus (PFF) earlier in December.
The Enterprise, Ala., native was also selected to the American Athletic Conference First Team as a return specialist.
