HOUSTON – Houston Football's Dec. 5 game against SMU has been canceled due to positive COVID-19 cases and contact tracing within the Mustangs' program.
The game was originally scheduled for Nov. 21 then moved to Dec. 5. The American Athletic Conference will consider a number of scheduling options in regard to the remainder of the 2020 schedule.
"I'm disappointed for both teams, who have worked to prepare for this weekend's game," Houston Vice President for Athletics Chris Pezman said. "We wish those affected at SMU a quick recovery."
Houston is scheduled to travel to Memphis on Dec. 12.
