Naomi Taylor and Travis Collins earn conference recognition
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Track & Field team will conclude a strong week of competition with a pair of American Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week honors. Naomi Taylor and Travis Collins were named The American Female and Male Track Athletes of the Week.
Taylor closed out the Red Raider Invitational with a second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.14. The finish is Taylor's third top-three finish of the season in the event and the sixth-fastest time in the collegiate ranks this season. The award marks Taylors second of the season and third of her career.
Collins concluded the Red Raider Invitational with a third-place finish in the 60-meters. The senior clocked a time of 6.65 for a second-place finish. The time is the 17th-fastest by a collegian this season and the top-time in The American. The award marks the first of the season for Collins and the first of his career.
