Trio of Cougar Alums Tabbed for The Match

Cougar alums to compete for Team USA in Minsk
HOUSTON – University of Houston Track & Field alums Cameron Burrell, Amere Lattin and Chris Carter will represent Team USA in Minsk, Belarus at the historic head-to-head duel The Match from Sept. 9-10 at the Dinamo National Olympic Stadium.

The best of Europe's track & field athletes will face Team USA in the final major international competition before the 2019 IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar. Burrell was tabbed for the 4x100-meter relay pool, Lattin will compete in the 400-meter hurdles and Carter will compete in the Triple Jump at the event as members of the 139-member squad that is comprised of 28 Olympians, eight Olympic medalist and 11 world championship medalist.
Lattin is fresh off a silver medal in the 400-meter hurdles at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru and automatically qualified for The Match after taking third-place in the 400-meter hurdles at the USATF National Championships to earn a bid to the World Championships.
Burrell continues to have a successful professional career and most recently ran at the Grand Prix Birmingham, competing in the 100-meter dash.
Carter continues to find success, finishing sixth in the triple jump at the Pan American Games.
