
Aaron Fletcher Traded to Mariners

Former standout pitcher involved in trade between Washington and Seattle
HOUSTON -- Former University of Houston Baseball pitcher Aaron Fletcher was traded from the Washington Nationals to the Seattle Mariners organization on Wednesday prior to the MLB trade deadline.
Fletcher, who was the No. 21 Nationals prospect, was sent to Seattle in exchange for Hunter Strickland.
UPDATE: Fletcher was assigned to the assigned to Arkansas Travelers of the Class AA Texas League on Aug. 1 and is listed as the No. 27 prospect for the Mariners.
He joins the Mariners farm system from the Harrisburg Senators of the Class AA Eastern League. The native of Cypress, Texas, was relatively new to the Senators, having moved up to the club on July 18.
Prior to Harrisonburg, the 2018 American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year had also spent time with the Potomac Nationals (Class A-Advanced) and the Hagerston Suns (Class A-Full Season).
Across the three minor league levels, the righty has combined for a 5-4 record with a 1.79 ERA and 69 strikeouts across 60.1 innings pitched.

In 2018, Fletcher was 2-1 with a 2.90 ERA between the Auburn Doubledays (Class A-Short Season) and GCL Nationals (Rookie).
Fletcher was a member of the Houston Baseball program from 2015 to 2018. He posted an 11-5 career record with a 2.06 ERA across 62 appearances including 15 starts.
In 2018, Fletcher was 7-3 with a 2.19 ERA. The team's closer the previous year, he turned in 10 quality starts in his first year in the starting rotation.
