Connor Wong Enjoys California League All-Star Break

Former Houston standout participates in Home Run Derby, All-Star Game
HOUSTON -- For the second straight season, former University of Houston Baseball standout catcher Connor Wong was named a California League All-Star.
Wong, who plays for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in the Class A Advanced California League, represented the South in the league's Home Run Derby before taking part in the All-Star Game at San Manuel Stadium in San Bernardino, Calif., on Tuesday.
Participating in his first-ever Home Run Derby, Wong hit two home runs in the opening round.

Wong also appeared for the South in the All-Star Game and drew a pinch-hit walk in the bottom of the ninth.
The North defeated the South, 7-1.
Wong was a three-year letterwinner for the Cougars from 2015 to 2017. A two-time All-American Athletic Conference selection, Wong batted .280 with 33 doubles, eight triples, 23 home runs, 98 walks, 103 RBI, 152 runs scored and 38 stolen bases across his career.
Following his junior season, Wong was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Third Round (Pick 100) of the 2017 MLB Draft. In 2018, Wong helped the Quakes win the California League Championship.
