Cougar junior closes out weekend with lifetime best and season best
AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving team was represented at the 2019 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships by junior Peyton Kondis for the second straight season. Kondis closed out the event with a lifetime best, season best and a program record.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
- Kondis opened the meet with the 200 Individual Medley where she posted a time of 2:01.49. The junior closed out the prelims with a 62nd-place fnish.
- On the third day of action Kondis competed in her signature event, the 100 Breaststroke. Kondis qualified for the NCAA Championships after posting a season-best time of 59.84 in the event earlier this season at the Phill Hansel Invitational. The Pittsburgh native closed out the race with her highest finish of the weekend, finishing 22nd-overall in the prelims with a season-best time of 59.83.
- Earlier today Kondis closed out the 2019 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships with both a lifetime best and program best time in the 200 Breaststroke. Kondis finished 30th-overall in the prelims with a record setting time of 2:10.30, besting her previous lifetime best of 2:10.62.
- Kondis will continue to train as she looks forward to the 2020 Olympic Trials after posting an Olympic Trial qualifying time of 1:09.55 in the Long Course Meter 100 Breaststroke.
