
Houston Grabs Eight Titles at Rice

Houston finishes weekend with 20 top-three finishes
HOUSTON – The Houston Cougar Men's and Women's Track & Field program finish up an incredible weekend at the Victor Lopez Classic with eight titles, part of 20 top-three finishes.
AT THE VICTOR LOPEZ CLASSIC
Amere Lattin placed on top in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.70.
Quivell Jordan also took home first in the 110-meter hurdles B section with a PR of 14.39.
Lateef Birks Jr. finished first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.87.
Ashley Seymour finished on top in the 200-meter dash with a wind-aided time of 23.99.
Jermaine Holt finished first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 46.55.
Birexus Hawkins took home first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.58.
The women's 4x100-meter relay team took home first with a time of 45.50.
Two men's 4x400-meter relay teams competed in the classic claiming the No. 1 and 2 spots. First place finished with a time of 3:09.84 and second place finished with a time of 3:10.63.
Britani Gonzales came in second in the 1500-meter run with a PR of 4:30.33.
Jemal Wote finished second in the 5000-meter run with a time of 14:52.28.
Essance Sample followed right behind Seymour in the 200-meter dash with a wind-aided time of 24.07.
Triston Gibbons finished second in shot put with a throw of 56-5.25 (17.20m).
Aaron Hurd finished third in the 1500-meter run with a PR of 3:59.81.
Terence Ware finished third in the 100-meter dash with a PR of 10.56.
Gibbons also competed in the discus where he placed third with a throw of 172-11 (52.71m).
Frederick Lewis finished third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.29.
Edward Sumler IV placed third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 2.41.
Jennifer Dunlap finished third in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:33.93.
The women's 4x400-meter relay closed out the Victor Lopez Classic, placing third with a time of 3:56.72.
