Montgomery on Bowerman Midseason Watch List

Senior sprinter ranks No. 1 in the 400 and No. 8 in the 200
HOUSTON – Houston senior sprinter Kahmari Montgomery is a candidate on the midseason watch list for the Bowerman, considered Track & Field's Heisman Trophy, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Thursday.

Montgomery currently ranks No. 1 in the USTFCCCA rankings in the 400-meter dash and No. 8 in the 200-meter dash. He is also a valuable leg on Houston's 4x400-meter relay that ranks No. 1 in the nation.

The American's Athletic Conference's Athlete of the Week each of the last two weeks, Montgomery already owns Houston's indoor 400-meter dash record and last week laid claim to the second-fastest indoor 200-meter dash in Houston history with a time of 20.63.

Houston splits this weekend with a number of student-athletes heading to Clemson, S.C., for the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational on Friday and Saturday while others will remain in Houston for the Howie Ryan Invitational on Friday.
