• Houston is coming off a 2-1 series win over then No. 24 Arizona at Don Sanders Field at Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park. The Cougars knocked off the nationally-ranked Wildcats, 2-1 and 9-7, before falling 9-4 in the series finale.
• Senior first baseman Joe Davis was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. Across four games (McNeese, series vs. Arizona), the Austin native went 6-for-17 with two doubles, three home runs, three walks, seven RBI and four runs scored.
• Davis leads the Cougars with a .333/.455/.889 slash, totaling seven extra-base hits, with three doubles and four home runs, across the team's seven games.

• Davis and junior third baseman Jared Triolo have reached base in all seven games to start the season.
• On the mound, Aguliar is slated for his second start of the season. Getting the nod in Houston's midweek opener versus McNeese on Feb. 21, the native of Deer Park, Texas, tossed three scoreless innings, scattering four hits and recording six strikeouts in a no-decision. Aguliar took the hard-luck loss in a 2-1, 11-inning decision to Northwestern State on Feb. 17.
• Junior right-handed pitcher Fred Villarreal is tied for the nation's lead with a 0.00 ERA out of the bullpen. Villarreal has scattered four hits while recording two walks to eight strikeouts across 10 and one-third innings.
